It is always such a joy to accompany Jan on her amazing walks to special sites and historical places. The “Spirit of Place” is always acknowledged and reverenced and the ‘world’ seems to open up to a bigger view. Things which you may never before have noticed, seem to shimmer and beckon. Jan has such an affinity to the places she visits and the sites she chooses that all her companions are embraced in a special energy. Jan’s stories, prompted by the sites themselves, enfold you in their wisdom, and you may come away with a different perspective on life.

Can’t wait for the next one!

A great stroll in and around Llanthony Priory with Jan Little. The characters in the stories became so alive I had coffee with Walter de Lacey, founder of the Priory in the 1100s and met Walter Savage Landors, a Victorian Poet who created hell in the valley. Beautiful views, with Jan spotting all sorts of things in nature, I would have missed. Can’t wait for the next one!

Thank you so much for the mystical walk yesterday. The weather only made it more atmospheric, with the mist rolling in over the mountains to meet the lake.

We had a great time and you are truly an amazing and captivating storyteller. I feel myself getting sucked right back to a point in history and your stories always carry such a powerful message, never failing to resonate deeply.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

A superb story teller.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jan’s trip in the beautiful Llanthony Valley but what made it special was Jan’s story telling. Jan is a superb story teller and her stories are very well researched. The story she told about David Jones, the artist and war poet, had me gripped in the heart of the great and awful war; she brought it alive.

What a delightful experience, a wonderful mixture of strolling through nature, hearing the history of the local area, and wonderful stories that captivate the imagination. I left the walk feeling somehow rejuvenated and inspired.

Bringing historical characters to life.

When planning a trip to UK, I was lucky enough to come across a mention of Strolls ‘n’ Stories on Facebook. We attended the Wye Valley walk where the views were unprecedented.  Hubby and I had an awesome day!  Our host, Jan Little, and the rest of the group were welcoming and friendly.  Jan was obviously very familiar with the area, knew the history, and used her love of nature, people and theatre to bring it all together for a special experience. Jan was totally awesome in bringing some of the historical characters to life, into our hearts, and into our minds. The stories were entertaining and educational. Well worth it!

Always a great day out with Jan. Fascinating facts about nature and history. I learned so much about things that were in plain sight and I hadn’t even noticed before. And just wait until you hear the stories...
